Reese Erlich: The real story of US policy and the future of Cuba

On January 1, Cubans celebrated the 50th Anniversary of their revolution. The Cubans have much to celebrate on this historic occasion: their economic transition after the collapse of the Soviet Bloc their survival of ongoing US efforts to destabilize the revolutionary government and cripple Cuba through its trade embargo to name just two. Now, having transition power from Fidel to Raul Castro, they are witnessing a new left tide sweeping across Latin America, with new challenges and new opportunities in a world very different from 1959. Eric Mann discussess the Cuban revolution and US-Cuba relations with veteran journalist Reese Erlich, whose recent book is titled Dateline Havana: The Real Story of US Policy and the Future of Cuba.
