Cuts go into effect on December 12th
The MTA board goes ahead with the first of their proposed cuts to bus service. As reported in the Los Angeles Times, they are cutting service to nine Local and Rapid bus lines, and reducing coverage to nine others.
The deepest cuts in service will be in South Central Los Angeles, where residents already struggling with a 70% unemployment rate, will face the additional burden of longer waits and overcrowding.
