Lian Hurst Mann

Lian Hurst Mann, co-coordinator of the National School for Strategic Organizing, editor and writer in Strategy Center Publications Department, editor of the Center's quarterly AhoraNow. Lian grew up in Los Angeles, was a founding member of the Berkeley/Oakland Women's Union in the 60s, worked 10 years organizing on the shop floor of factories and workplaces, graduate of UC Berkeley where she also received a Ph.D. in architecture, editor of California Architecture quarterly for five years, co-editor of Reconstructing Architecture: Critical Strategies and Social Practices, and author of Structures for Knowledge for Change: Architecture as Social Practice.
