The Los Angeles Community Action Network (LA CAN) is dedicated to helping people dealing with poverty create & discover opportunities, while serving as a vehicle to ensure they have voice, power & opinion in the decisions that are directly affecting them.
YOUTH JUSTICE COALITION/Free L.A.High School is working to build youth-led movement to challenge race, gender, and class inequality in the Los Angeles County juvenile injustice system, to tear down a system that has ensured the massive lock-up of people of color, widespread police brutality and corruption, vast disregard for black youth and communities' Constitutional and human rights, and to oppose the build-up of the world's largest prison system.
CADRE is dedicated to solidifying and advancing parent leadership to ensure that all children are rightfully educated regardless of where they live. They seek to effect policy change and mobilize political will through new parent participation models that preserve and expand the right to education for all South LA children and youth.
