The Just Transition Alliance was founded in 1997 as a coalition of environmental justice and labor organizations. Together with frontline workers, and community members who live along the fence-line of polluting industries, they create healthy workplaces and communities. They focus on contaminated sites that should be cleaned up, and on the transition to clean production and sustainable economies. Partners include the Asian Pacific Environmental Network, Farmworker Network for Economic and Environmental Justice, Indigenous Environmental Network, Northeast Environmental Justice Network, United Steelworkers, and the Southwest Network for Environmental and Economic Justice.
