Pollution Watch Series #3: Did You Know that LA’s Car Addiction Could Stop Your Heart from Beating?
by Duyen Tran on Friday, April 9, 2010
Los Angeles's addiction to cars increases the risk of death for people living with heart failure and chronic pulmonary disease. Black and Latino poor and working class folks bear the brunt of the city's toxic air while middle and upper class people can buy their way out of living under L.A.'s lethal air. Join the Clean Air, Clean Lungs, Clean Buses Campaign to challenge MTA and L.A. City Council to reduce L.A.'s 7 million toxic cars by half by restricting auto and adding 1000 more buses, 24/7 bus service, bus-only lanes, and zones free from automobiles where children can play and breathe!
