Turning 4th Street into a Bike Boulevard
Our allies at the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition (LACBC) are launching a campaign to turn 4th Street into a bike boulevard. This project would cover the stretch from Hoover Street in Koreatown to Cochran Avenue in Hancock Park. Bicycle and pedestrian traffic would be prioritized around this low-traffic area that is already utilized as a bike route. A segment from Hoover to Norton has already been repaved and designated as a "Bike-Friendly Street," so there are some good signs of this project coming to fruition.
This campaign demands our support to make bike transit easier, safer and a more viable alternative to automobiles. This bike boulevard would a step away from the car culture of this city towards cleaner methods of transportation.
Come join them for their event Walk and Ride for a Safer 4th Street.
