Our delegation of 25 organizers, staff, and members representing all our projects returned on Sunday (6/27) from an exhilarating and all-consuming experience at the US Social Forum in Detroit where more than 15,000 organizers and activists from across the country converged for 5 days of over 1,000 workshops and assemblies. Thank you to everyone who supported us!

We met so many great people and sponsored and participated in many successful workshops. The biggest highlight was the packed room--standing in the back, people sitting on the floor in the front--for our workshop on Transformative Organizing Theory, with Ai-jen Poo (National Domestic Workers Alliance), Steve Williams (POWER),Cindy Weisner (Grassroots Global Justice), Ng’ethe Maina (Social Justice Leadership), and Patrisse Cullors and Eric Mann (Labor/Community Strategy Center) engaging Eric Mann's new pamphlet, The 7 Components of Transformative Organizing Theory, which identifies 7 core elements of social movement building.
