Submit your comment of support for the Wilshire Bus-Only Lanes project to the MTA

Campaign Reference:
Bus Only Lanes

The MTA is taking in comments from the public for the
Wilshire Bus-Only Lane (BOL) Project as part of its environmental
review process.

As you may know the Bus Riders Union and the Clean Air
Campaign have fought for the last 4 years to make this project a
reality. The Wilshire Bus-Only Lanes will set a huge precedent in
prioritizing the streets for buses over auto in the auto capital of the
world and enable us to push for a countywide network of bus-only lanes.

This public input process is critical to the timely implementation of
the Wilshire BOL by 2011. Please submit your comments of support right
now to the MTA either online (see below), via email wilshirebrt@metro.net or by contacting Ms. Martha Butler, Project Manager by phone 213.922.2500.  Last day for submitting your comment is this Friday, December 12th.

SAMPLE COMMENT:

I am a resident of  ( state your neighborhood and any comment of support).  I
fully support the Wilshire Bus-Only Lanes/BRT project because it will
improve the speed and reliability of buses for thousands of bus riders
and attract more people to get out of their cars and use transit.  This
project is a critical environmental breakthrough for Los Angeles and
needs to be implemented with no further delays.  Please move this
project forward today and start implementing other bus-only lanes
throughout the region. Our children's health can't wait and clean
transit must be prioritized.  Thank you.
